This is an atlas, not a gallery. Six thousand six hundred and sixty-six doors stand in an unnamed city, and behind every one of them is a face nobody has given a name to. You walk the plate; you do not scroll a list.
| drag | walk the plate in any direction |
| wheel / pinch | zoom toward the cursor |
| click a door | the face inside comes to the doorway |
| R | travel to a door at random |
| / | jump to the search line |
| F / D | faces on or off · dust on or off |
| ESC | close whatever is open |
| The GRID | rectangular · 2,446 doors. Streets that cross at right angles and never surprise anyone. |
| The QUARTER | quadratic · 2,088. Blocks inside blocks inside blocks. |
| The WHEEL | radial · 1,399. Everything points at a centre that holds nothing. |
| The COMB | hexagonal · 715. Packed the way bees would do it, if bees had landlords. |
| The TOWER | radial · 18. Eighteen doors stacked in a ring. The city's whole vertical ambition. |
With dust on, the plate is covered and only what you have actually walked past stays uncovered. There is no way to reveal the city except by crossing it. Turning dust off is not cheating — it is just admitting you would rather see the map than earn it.
The census bar counts how many doors already have a face. Until the collection is minted the honest figure is zero; the three buttons beside it let you see what the plate would look like part-way through, and they are labelled as a simulation rather than a reading.
